AIR CONDITIONING OR VENTILATION?

Posted on by Belmar Services Ltd

In the summer as heat levels increase; productivity typically slumps, which poses a dilemma for any manager. Investing in an air conditioning or ventilation system can drastically improve your working environment, but how do you know which one to choose?

If you have mistaken air conditioning and ventilation systems before, you are not the only one. Although these two units are strikingly similar, the subtle differences can offer an array of unique benefits to your office.

HOW DOES AIR CONDITIONING WORK?

You are probably most familiar with air conditioning units, most cars come with an air conditioning system, so what do they actually do?

If we stick with the analogy of a car, the main purpose of this system is to cool the car down in the summer or heat it up in the winter. In simple terms, this is achieved by ingesting the existing air in the car, heating it up or cooling it down, and then recycling the air back out.

HOW DOES A VENTILATION SYSTEM WORK?

Air ventilation units operate by mixing the air from inside a building with the air from outside and releasing the end product back into the office. It is important to note that this process will not change the temperature of the air; it will only affect the quality of your air.

If you have a naturally cool office and the temperature is consistently mild, an air ventilation system will offer more benefits than an air conditioning system. The mixture of outside and inside air will help to rid the room of impurities and remove pollution from the air.

Highlighting your specific needs will help you to narrow down the choice between the two types of systems.

To have a fully effective ventilation system, you should have ventilation in each room of your premises.
